Design Review Committee Guidance for Homeowners

Once built, any dwelling in Cory Lake Isles continues to be governed by the Cory Lake Isles Deed Restrictions.  In accordance with the Deed Restrictions, any exterior changes to your home, including landscaping, fences, playground equipment, docks, pools, patios, house paint, emergency generators, hurricane protection, etc., need to be submitted in writing to the Design Review Committee (DRC) for review and to receive written approval before proceeding. Even if something appears to be allowed in the deed restrictions, you must submit if for formal approval. If you are unsure you can call the DRC at 986-8000 to answer any of your questions. Copies of the Deed Restrictions and Design Review Manual can be obtained at the Beach Club for a small charge to cover printing costs.Submission is easy. To apply for any improvement make a written or drawn sketch of your plans and what you want to do and drop it off at the Beach Club office. It must include an accurate rendering, including dimensions to the existing home, property lines and/or easements, grading and elevations of the Lot if it is to be altered, types of materials and colors, and types of plants or trees, of the proposed improvements depicting the location of landscaping and other improvements on the Lot. A good starting point is to sketch or draw your proposed improvement on a copy of your home’s plat plan. Please include your name, address and phone number on the submitted documentation so the DRC can contact you with any questions. The DRC will review it ASAP and get back to you. Reviews are done in as timely a manner as possible. In rare cases it could take up to 3 weeks.
